Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes today. It is also Stephen Fry's birthday.
I started this last September, partly as a reaction to the entire family and my work forgetting or ignoring my last birthday!
To be fair I never make anything of my own birthday but it hurt a bit to be totally ignored! It has ,at least been remembered this year
It has been an eventful year - A parachute jump from Hibalstow, where someone doing the same thing died yesterday! My older daughter getting married, my younger daughter getting a first in her contemoporary Arts degree in Leeds.
There were also trips to Glasgow and the West coast of Scotland, Staying in a converted prison and our usual fix of West Cornwall (including an Archaeological weekend) and weekend walks in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. A reunion cricket match and meeting up with a lot of old friends one of whom I had not seen for over 20 years.
Work is bizarre. I resigned as a partner in the firm in 2007 following a rather unfortunate series of events and am now a 'consultant' with an undefined role. The firm owe me quite a sum but are unable to pay me so I have to keep working (on a salary) in the hope that they will make enough to repay me some day.
My Boss is now my ex-secretary! I'm sure there are not many who can say they have that experience.
All in all not a bad year. Certainly better than the last few.
